TLS Product Roadmap - Part I - Data

At TLS, our mission is to deliver the most effective workout in the US through ultra-personalization. You’ve asked how we’ll achieve this, and we’re excited to share our 4 part plan.

 The Four Pillars:

  1. Data: Scanners and software track your unique metrics (strength, mobility, progress) in real time.

  2. Training: Teachers use that data to engage you personally, even in a crowd.

  3. Equipment: Smart, adaptive tools optimize your tailored routine.

  4. AI: Instant, 24/7 guidance keeps you on track, anywhere.

By anchoring our strategy in these core pillars, we’re poised to amplify our brand’s reach and stand out boldly against the competition.

In this update, we’re zooming in on TLS Data—a game-changer in our journey.

Background: Is data needed?

Data in fitness can spark debate. From calorie counting to tracking reps or fueling friendly competition, it lands differently for everyone.

The real question lingered: Do our clients even want data? Does it enhance their experience, or is it just noise? Our realization is that if we combine data with other elements (training, app, devices, etc.) then it starts to transform the experience that is digestible for just about everyone.

Core Data Elements: Supercharging the Experience

There are four key areas to harness data and deliver the most personalized Pilates journey imaginable:

  1. TLS App: Teaming up with Recess to tailor our CRM, presenting data to clients in a way that’s intuitive and empowering.

  2. Devices: Linking smart tech, starting with our new TLS Body scanner (rolled out April 2025), with plans to sync wearables for real-time tracking.

  3. Client Feedback: Letting clients set custom goals, with our software accelerating their progress every step of the way.

  4. Class Prep: Automated emails to prepare instructors for their personalized class.

1. TLS App: Unlocking the Data Vault

In October 2024, we decided to ditch the traditional fitness CRMs and partner with a group that would customize an app around our preferences: Recess.

The single greatest design feature has been we created it as a "Sideloaded App", meaning the client doesn't go through the Apple Store to download it. This allows us to increase app updates 5x as fast as our competitors.

Since this partnership began, they have redesigned over 20 different elements to allow for ultrapersonalization.

2. Devices: Proving the Concept

Clients want to be able to track real time data so they can SEE their progress and know that our workout is effective.

A month ago we sealed a partnership with a new body scanning technology that would not only partner with us, but would integrate their software into our app! This would give the clients real time feedback and a time series of how their body is transforming.

Introducing the TLS Body Scanner.

We will continue to explore other devices that can add to the personalized experience and not detract away from it.

3. Client Feedback: Self reported feedback

Thirdly, we have opened up other feedback portals to constantly encourage clients to provide us with ever evolving feedback so we can personalize the experience to them. We do this through surveys and in app engagement.

An example of one of several questions we gather on incoming clients so we know how to engage with them on their first class.

4. Class Prep: Getting Instructors involved

Having data be standalone does us no good. We cannot read the clients' minds. We have to get that data in front of instructors so they can use it to personalize the class!

For this we had to do three big things:

  1. Find an expert who knows how to do it all

  2. Redesign how data is collected and communicated (API)

  3. Create automated emails to send it out

We successfully did all three. Right now we send automated emails to all instructors with first timers in their classes to get custom feedback on who they are. See below.

From here we will evolve the data to look better for instructors and communicate more information in a simplistic way.

Conclusion: Data as the Difference-Maker

Our mission is bold: create the most effective workout ever. That means tailoring it to every person in the room, every time. The key? Weaving data from diverse sources into a seamless, daily experience. When done right, data isn’t just a tool—it’s a catalyst for explosive growth and a towering barrier to entry for competitors. With TLS Data, we’re not just adapting to the future; we’re defining it.
