TLS, our mission is to deliver the most effective workout in the US through ultra-personalization. You’ve asked how we’ll achieve this, and we’re excited to share our 4 part plan.

By anchoring our strategy in these core pillars, we’re poised to amplify our brand’s reach and stand out boldly against the competition.

 In this update, we’re tackling TLS Equipment—the greatest cash and growth impediment in our journey.

Background: Why Equipment Matters for Us

There are three main reasons why equipment is critical for us:

  • Effectiveness: The right machines are non-negotiable. They allow us to isolate movements with precision, optimize performance, and deliver the exceptional workout experience our clients expect. Without them, we’d be compromising our core promise. 

  • Barrier to Entry: Unlike yoga studios that can flip on the lights and start teaching with minimal setup, our model demands specialized equipment. Competitors can’t just waltz in—this requires serious capital investment, creating a natural moat around our business.  

  • Expansion: Access to top-tier equipment isn’t just about maintaining quality; it’s the backbone of scaling a studio. Without it, growth stalls, and we’re stuck spinning our wheels.

Bringing it in house: Our First Attempt

For years, sourcing the right machines has been a nightmare, threatening our ability to operate and grow. Here’s why:  

  1. 📤Availability Crisis 

    • At its worst, Lagree machines—the gold standard in our industry—had lead times stretching beyond 18 months. Picture this: if we placed an order today, April 10, 2025, we wouldn’t see delivery until Christmas 2026. Even the next-best alternatives carried 14+ week delays. Worse still, many models were discontinued outright, leaving existing studios unable to replace or expand their fleets. This wasn’t just inconvenient—it was a growth-killer.  

  2. 😓Uncertainty

    • Long lead times were bad enough, but the unpredictability made it unbearable. With hundreds of studios vying for the same equipment, we were left in the dark about our place in line. Timelines shifted constantly, and planning became a guessing game. How do you build a business when you can’t trust the supply chain?  

  3. 🫰Expensive  

    • Total Costs: The price tags were jaw-dropping. Lagree machines, including licenses, started at $20,000+ per unit. Add in the mandatory instructor certification fees, and the investment snowballed. Even “budget” alternatives clocked in at $10,000 per machine—hardly a bargain.  

    • Payment Terms: Manufacturers demanded 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, with no financing options in sight. When financing finally emerged, it came with punishing interest rates—10% or higher—turning an already steep cost into a financial albatross.

  4. 🔧Replacement Parts Fiasco

    • Equipment breaks—it’s inevitable. But when it did, we were stranded and that machine is useless costing us $1,000's of lost revenue every week. Replacement parts were perpetually out of stock, and when they were available, suppliers gouged us with inflated prices. Downtime piled up, frustrating clients and draining revenue.

In short, the equipment ecosystem wasn’t just flawed—it was a chokehold on our potential.
